Stone Edge

Statewide - Stone Edge Farm is a small winery located in Sonoma Valley.  They are dedicated to creating the finest wines from their holistically farmed, organic vineyards.  To capture the complexity of their two vineyards, Stone Edge and Mount Pisgah, they farm the land organically with close attention to the myriad details that contribute to flavors in ripening grapes.  Pairing wine with seasonal foods is the heart of Stone Edge's field-to-table explorations, and from their gardens they produce a select quantity of olive oil and heirloom vegetables, all sustainably grown and cultivated for flavor.

The vibrant, living soil nurtured at Stone Edge and Mount Pisgah vineyards encourages a biodiverse ecosystem that goes beyond winegrowing, contributing to a long-term sustainable program and the winemaking techniques are informed by classic European traditions: grapes are hand-sorted before entering the de-stemmer and then sorted again afterwards.  Numerous, small hand-mixed fermentations are preferred in order to draw out the best from each vineyard block and to enhance nuanced layers of the final blend.  Aged in French oak barrels for 20 to 30 months, the wines are racked several times from barrel-to-barrel to provide the small doses of air needed for optimum maturation.
