Scenic Root is the home of Pey-Marin, Pey-Lucia, Spicerack & Textbook Wines. Owners Jonathan & Susan Pey studied wine, lived overseas & worked for decades with iconic wineries such as Burgundy’s Domâine Louis Jadot, Alsace’s Trimbach and Australia’s Penfolds. Their organically farmed 19 year-old vineyard in rugged western Marin County produces outstanding dry Riesling and delicious, “balanced” Pinot Noir. The Peys also craft superb small lots from sustainably-farmed vineyards in Santa Lucia Highlands, Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast. The Peys micro production is ~3-500 cases per wine, all of which have received superb critical acclaim.
