I for one, firmly support that statement (except for when it comes to food, wine, and wine). However, David Jeffrey of Calluna Vineyards, our newest winery partner has made moderation into an art. Nothing too extreme he says, and in my teeter totter universe that screams of the balance that makes this business interesting. He believes that you can indeed get ripe fruit flavors without high sugar and brix levels, which actually tastes far more delicious than it sounds. In addition to balance, David has focus. He makes one superbly crafted wine from his stunning vineyard on the unique slopes of Chalk Hill in the Sonoma Coast. Composed of the five Bordeaux varietals, his Calluna Vineyards Cuvee is a breath of fresh air, and we are proud, enthusiastic, and gangbusters excited to show his efforts off to the whole dang state of California!
